Britain's favourite cars revealed Britain's beleaguered motor industry got a boost today when four UK-built cars made it into a top 10 list of most-satisfying models. The four - the Honda Civic, Toyota Avensis, Toyota Corolla and Jaguar S-type - got the thumbs up from car owners in a customer satisfaction index from marketing information services company JD Power and What Car? magazine. Also, the Oxford-based Mini company and Midlands-based Jaguar were in the top 10 of manufacturers in the index published today. 'The British motor industry is still building great cars,' said What Car? editor David Motton. He went on: 'Brands like Honda, Jaguar, Mini and Toyota demonstrate that with the right investment and management, British-built vehicles can be a pleasure to own.' Japanese models continued to dominate the customer satisfaction rankings which were based on the evaluations of nearly 15,000 UK car owners after an average of two years of ownership. Top model for customer satisfaction was the Lexus IS, followed by the Honda Jazz and Suzuki Liana. Bottom of the list of 105 models was the Ford Galaxy. The lowest-placed UK built model was the Land Rover Discovery in equal 100th place. The manufacturers table was topped by Lexus for the sixth year running, with Honda second and Skoda third.
