House prices up by 11% in Wiltshire

THE average house price in Wiltshire has increased by 11 per cent in the last 12 months to almost £200,000, according
to figures released by Halifax today.

The average cost of buying a house in the county rose from £177,338 in March 2006 to £197,530 by March this year.

But the county fared better than many areas in the south west - the average house price for the region is now £212,277
which is a 14.1 per cent increase from last year.

The survey also found that for the first time there are now no towns in the UK where the average price is below £100,000.
